How should companies design and manage the objectives of AI systems used in direct customer interactions? This question is the focus of the research project “AI Objective Design – How Firms Should Design and Govern the Objectives of Customer-Facing AI Systems,” which Ann-Kristin Rüther is conducting together with Sascha Alavi, Maximilian Frieß, and Martin Krämer.

As part of the doctoral workshop in Wiesbaden, Ann-Kristin Rüther presented her project online and received helpful feedback for the further development of her research. The focus is on how companies can design the objectives of customer-oriented AI systems and ensure, through appropriate measures, that the systems’ behavior aligns with the desired goals.

Prof. Dr. Sascha Alavi attended the event in person. In addition to various presentations, the doctoral workshop provided an opportunity to exchange ideas with marketing professors from all over Germany.
