SERVSIG Conference in Glasgow
Last week, the 12th SERVSIG conference took place in Glasgow, UK. As one of the leading conferences in service research, this year's event again offered great opportunities for discussion and international networking. The Professorship of Marketing was represented with two presentations on the topic of social media. In this context, Jana Grothaus presented her current research results under the title "#infertility - Dealing with taboo topics on social media", examining the taboo topic of infertility and its treatment in online media. Another exciting field of social media marketing was addressed by Xenia Raufeisen with her presentation "A double-edged sword: Humorous complaint handling on social media". Conducting an experimental design, she explored the effects of humorous responses by companies to customer complaints. We thank the organizer and colleagues for the exciting professional and personal exchange in Glasgow!
